Chef Lee Anne Wong

Lee Anne Wong is a nationally known chef. Her restaurant, Papa’aina, located within the historic Pioneer Inn in Lahaina, was destroyed in the 8/8 Maui wildfire. After discovering her staff members were safe, Chef Wong decided to keep cooking — but this time for people who need it most. She and other chefs hui’d up with nonprofit Common Ground Collective to feed daily about 9,000 people affected by the wildfires. A large part of the operation has shifted to West Maui, and Chef Wong continues to cook several hundred meals a day for distribution across the island to those in need.

"Hawaiian Kanpachi is my favorite fish to eat and cook with. It is versatile, delicious and environmentally responsible."
